Speaking on MMAjunkie Radio recently, Cormier divulged that his daughter felt bad for his latest opponent, Derrick Lewis, and had a tough time stomaching the whole scene.
Brendan Schaub explains why Brock Lesnar is a tougher test for Daniel Cormier than Derrick Lewis was
Tom Taylor - November 6, 2018
Daniel Cormier’s planned heavyweight title super fight with former UFC heavyweight champ and WWE star Brock Lesnar is unanimously expected to be a box office smash, but not everybody is expecting the fight to be competitive. Instead, it’s common opinion that Cormier, undeniably one of the best fighters ever to compete in MMA, will hand Lesnar a pretty lopsided whooping. Whether that’s accurate or not, former UFC heavyweight and current MMA analyst Brendan Schaub is confident of one thing: Brock Lesnar will be a tougher test for Daniel Cormier than his last opponent Derrick Lewis, who he submitted in the second round in the main event of UFC 230 last weekend.

Daniel Cormier: win over Jon Jones more important for legacy than win over Brock Lesnar
Tom Taylor - November 2, 2018
Provided UFC heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier gets by Derrick Lewis in the main event of UFC 230 this Saturday night in New York, there would seem to be two primary options for his next fight. One is a long-discussed heavyweight title defense opposite former heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar. Tom Taylor - November 2, 2018

Lewis’ deal with the fast food giant stems from an incident earlier this year, when he claimed to defend the restaurant’s honor after heavyweight champ Daniel Cormier shared a funny video of himself dancing with pieces of fried chicken in his hands. While the full terms of Lewis’ deal with Popeyes are unknown, we do know that he’ll be receiving free chicken for life at a franchise in his hometown, and can assume there’s probably plenty more on the table. Whatever the case, Daniel Cormier is bummed out that he wasn’t the one to get the sponsorship deal with the chicken chain.
Daniel Cormier on UFC 230 foe Derrick Lewis: 'I see through his facade'
Tom Taylor - November 1, 2018
Derrick Lewis, who is set to battle Daniel Cormier for the UFC heavyweight title in the main event of UFC 230 this weekend, is beloved not just for his thunderous knockout wins but also for his hilarious personality. “The Black Beast” is always entertaining fans with his hilarious one-liners, his wild Instagram posts, and his lackadaisical approach to training for major bouts. Apparently, however, Daniel Cormier doesn’t believe Derrick Lewis is 100% on the level. The heavyweight champion feels that Lewis probably trains much harder than he lets on. He also feels that, under Lewis’ jokey exterior, there is a much harder, more determined man.
