“Gorilla” Darren Till hints at massive weight advantage ahead of bout with “lightweight” Donald Cerrone

Shortly after Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone agreed to fight Darren Till in the main event of UFC Fight Night 118 in Gdansk, Poland, he told MMAFighting.com that he “didn’t know anything,” about the man he had just agreed to fight. According to Till, who appeared on a recent edition of Talking Brawls podcast, that will soon change. As the much larger man, he expects to blow through “Cowboy.”

“Why should he know me?” Till queried on the podcast (h/t SevereMMA.com). “It’s not disrespectful. He’s going to know me when I knock him out. That’s just irrelevant; why should he know me?”

“It doesn’t matter,” Till continued. “He’s not going to be able live with me, mate. I’ve given a few interviews and I keep saying; I’m 210lbs and I’m built like a gorilla. He’s a lightweight. He’s a frail, old man. He’s been on a bender for seven days. What’s he coming in to do?’ I’m going pick him up and throw him out the cage. That’s what I’m going to do.”

“I don’t care what he says; ‘Chance of a lifetime’. It’s me going in there to fight again, and you know; put him into retirement. ‘Chance of a lifetime,’ – you know. Ok, if he’s giving me an opportunity, bad news mate, because I’m coming in to knock your head off. “

Till is undefeated as a professional at 15-0-1. Since joining the UFC roster, he has knocked out Wendell de Oliveira, battled Nicolas Dalby to a draw, and defeated Jessin Ayari and Bojan Veličković by decision.

Cerrone, meanwhile, is currently on a two fight skid, having recently given up a controversial decision to former welterweight champ Robbie Lawler, and been knocked out by dangerous contender Jorge Masvidal. These losses were preceded by four straight wins, as he stopped Alex Oliveira, Patrick Cote, Rick Story and Matt Brown in his first four fights in the welterweight division.
