Darren Till and Gunnar Nelson Have a Nice Chat Agreeing to Fight Each Other
Darren Till’s hype is like a meteor after finishing Cowboy Cerrone at UFC Gdansk, but what good is momentum if the guy can’t get a fight? Mike Perry and Till had their screaming match after the fight, but he’s booked for the time being. Our hearts skipped a beat when Dana White announced Stephen ‘Wonderboy’ Thompson and Till were going to scrap, but Thompson quickly squashed the news. It was frustrating enough for Darren Till to post that the welterweight division is all running scared, which led none other than Gunnar Nelson to chime in.
They’re all running scared, fuck… I would run from me!! https://t.co/XYJnc1V79n

You’ll never walk alone indeed, Gunnar Nelson. Looks at these two men agreeing to fight like honest gentlemen over the internet. The stoic Icelandic samurai fighting this brash Scouser in London or Liverpool would be absolutely mad. It’s just a good fight, no way else to put it. Gunnar Nelson has a chance to bounce back after a questionable loss to Santiago Ponzinibbio, while Till gets another big name to test himself against.
It seems like the seed was originally placed by coach John Kavanagh, who said he had someone ‘suitable and ready’ for Darren Till. White originally said Till and Wonderboy would be fighting on February 24th, which was a Florida UFC card which was going to be switched to an England card for Darren Till. This could be a possible date for he and Nelson to fight. There’s also a London card on March 17th. Either date is fine as long as we get this awesome match-up.
On a night full of bad decisions and regrettable actions, it’s refreshing to see @darrentill2 and @GunniNelson trying to respectfully make a match for #UFCLiverpool or #UFCLondon
