On Saturday night, in the main event of UFC 228, Liverpool’s Darren Till stepped into the Octagon with UFC welterweight champion Tyron Woodley, keen to take the welterweight belt for himself. Unfortunately for Till and his legions of fans, this fight did not go the way he planned. Instead, he was dropped and submitted by the champion in the bout’s second round.

Having failed to capture the UFC welterweight title — and experienced the first defeat of his professional MMA career — it’s now back to the drawing board for Darren Till. While this loss is bound to be a tough pill to swallow, however, he seems to be in reasonably good spirits, all things considered.

Till issued a short statement on his loss on social media post-fight. He also had some choice words for rapper Snoop Dogg, though it’s not clear why.

“Shit happens, well done @twooodley. You will all see me very soon! @snoopdogg you’re a fucking bitch, Fuck You!!!” – Darren Till on Instagram.

With his submission loss to Tyron Woodley at UFC 228, Darren Till is now 17-1-1 overall. While his title dreams appear to be dashed for now, he is only 25 years old, and would seem to have plenty of time to grow.

What do you think the future holds for Darren Till after his UFC 228 submission loss to UFC welterweight champion Tyron Woodley?
