Former two-division UFC champion Daniel Cormier is concerned over the whole buddy-buddy thing between Khamzat Chimaev and Darren Till. Chimaev (10-0 MMA) is set to make his highly anticipated return to the Octagon at next weekend’s UFC 273 event against former welterweight title challenger Gilbert Burns (20-4 MMA).

It’s safe to say that Darren Till is high on Tom Aspinall. In addition to thinking his countryman will become a champion, he also thinks he defeats Jon Jones. Aspinall competed last weekend at UFC London against Alexander Volkov. The 28-year-old defeated his Russian counterpart via first-round submission. For his efforts, he earned a ‘Performance of the Night’ bonus and shot up the heavyweight rankings. Following the bout, he called out Tai Tuivasa for a matchup next.

Darren Till has fired back at Israel Adesanya after the middleweight champ blasted the Brit for celebrating too much with Tom Aspinall. In the main event of UFC London, Till’s longtime friend and training partner in Aspinall submitted Alexander Volkov in the first round. After the event, Till was on top of the Octagon with Aspinall which Adesanya ridiculed him for.

While he’s managed to pick up wins over the likes of Stephen Thompson and Kelvin Gastelum, he’s also suffered a string of defeats that have left him with a 1-4 record in his last five fights. In the midst of that, he’s also been finished by Tyron Woodley, Jorge Masvidal and, most recently, Derek Brunson.

Chimaev (10-0 MMA), age 27, has taken the UFC by storm since making his Octagon debut in July of 2020. ‘The Wolf’ has scored stoppage wins in all four of his UFC fights, finishing opponents John Phillips, Rhys McKee, Gerald Meerschaert and Li Jingliang along the way.

UFC middleweight contender Darren Till says he is interested in facing Sean Strickland in his UFC return, saying that “I think it would be a good fight.” Till is coming off of a lopsided stoppage loss to Derek Brunson in his last fight, and overall he has struggled lately. Till is just 1-4 in his last five fights, but he is still ranked at No. 8 in the UFC middleweight division so he still has some leverage when it comes to his next fight. If it was up to Till, he would get the chance to fight someone else ranked near him in his next fight. The man one spot above him in the rankings at No. 7 is Strickland. As far as Till goes, Strickland would be a good matchup for him and he wants the UFC to book it.

UFC Hall of Famer Michael Bisping explained why fellow British-born MMA fighter Darren Till should move back down to welterweight. Till lost his second straight fight and suffered his fourth loss in his last five fights overall with a third-round rear-naked choke defeat to veteran Derek Brunson at UFC Vegas 36. While Till did hurt Brunson at one point on the feet, he spent the majority of the fight on his back being controlled by Brunson and getting his face smashed in with ground and pound before the veteran sunk in the finishing choke in the third round. For Till, this was a tough loss that essentially shuts down any notion of him being a middleweight title contender anytime soon. Although he’s only 28, he needs to get back in the win column.

In the main event of UFC Vegas 36, top-10 middleweights collided as Derek Brunson took on Darren Till who was returning after more than a year away. Brunson entered the fight on a four-fight winning streak and coming off a dominant decision victory over Kevin Holland. Prior to that, he TKO’d Edmen Shahbazyan in another dominant performance. His other wins were decision victories over Ian Heinisch and Elias Theodorou. Till, meanwhile, was coming off a decision loss to Robert Whittaker and was dealing with a collarbone injury.
