The September 4 UFC event that was originally scheduled to take place in London is reportedly moving back to Las Vegas. Sin City has been home to the majority of UFC cards since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic but after more than 16 months away, the promotion had been hoping to make a long-awaited return to London – a city they tend to visit every single year.

Darren Till reignited his feud with Marvin Vettori on Saturday, sharing a ‘Lord Of The Rings’ photo that was modified to include ‘The Italian Dream’. Till (18-3-1 MMA) and Vettori (17-5-1 MMA) were slated to collide in the headliner of UFC Vegas 23 this past April. However, the Liverpool native suffered a broken collarbone in training and was thus unable to compete.

When Dana White and the UFC announced TUF would be coming back many were eager to see who the coaches would be. It ultimately ended up being Alexander Volkanovski and Brian Ortega. Yet, according to Adesanya, he was offered to coach the show against Till but he said no for a couple of reasons.

Till was recently announced to be returning to the Octagon this summer on August 14 when he takes on Derek Brunson in a five-round middleweight bout that headlines the UFC London event. As for Chimaev, he has been dealing with health issues all year long after a tough battle with COVID-19, but he is expected to make a return to the Octagon this summer. While Chimaev is fighting at welterweight now, it appears as though he is still interested in fighting at middleweight down the road, and Till could be an opponent.

UFC color commentator Michael Bisping revealed that the upcoming Darren Till vs. Derek Brunson middleweight fight will take place at UFC London. Till vs. Brunson was revealed earlier this week to take place as the headliner of the UFC’s August 14 event. However, no venue or location was announced for the card at the time. Most figured it would take place in Las Vegas, where the UFC has exclusively held its Fight Night cards for the past year, but according to Bisping, the fight takes place in London.

August is looking to be the month of middleweights in the UFC. Derek Brunson and Darren Till are targeted to lock horns. ESPN’s Brett Okamoto revealed on Wednesday that the UFC is aiming to make the matchup between top 10 middleweights as the main event of the August 14 fight night, according to Dana White. The event had yet to be officially announced as part of the UFC schedule but it would take place just a week ahead of another pivotal 185-pound bout between Paulo Costa and Jared Cannonier.
