VIDEO | Darren Till gives weight update ahead of UFC 228 title fight, ‘It’s sh*t’

“That’s the only thing…it’s sh*t. It’s sh*t. It’s f*ckin’… I hate cuttin’ weight, I hate makin’ weight. I hate dietin’. I’m gonna make this weight so I can’t wait to do that when I step on them scales.

I’m in that moment now where I don’t wanna train anymore, I don’t wanna eat good anymore. I just wish I had a hamburger in front of me but it’s all sacrifices and I made a mistake last time and I just can’t wait to say ‘f*ck you’ to everyone who keeps bobbling on about weight and ‘he didn’t make weight, f*ck Till’ f*ck them.”

The biggest concern ahead of the next big title fight that will headline UFC 228 in Dallas on September 8 is the challenger, Darren Till’s weight.

For Till’s last time out he took on the perennial top contender and two-time title challenger Stephen ‘Wonderboy’ Thompson is the main event of the UFC’s first event held in Till’s hometown of Liverpool.

Till would earn the biggest victory of his young career over the veteran Thompson via unanimous decision. However, Till missed the 170-pound weight limit by four pounds which have many worried that he won’t make weight again for his title fight where he will need to be no heavier than 170.

Till has been quite vocal about how big he is compared to the rest of the division. This also wasn’t his first time missing the 170 mark as he also missed two fight prior to his last bout when he took on Jessin Ayari and came in at 176-pounds.

With Till’s title fight against the champion Tyron Woodley being just next Saturday, this isn’t exactly the kind of update we were hoping for but at least the confident Brit is honest.
