According to Front Row Management’s Abrahim Kawa, who represents some of the biggest fighters in mixed martial arts today, current UFC flyweight champion Demetrious Johnson will be making a “huge announcement” on tomorrow’s edition of The MMA Hour with Ariel Helwani.

“@MightyMouseUFC has a huge announcement!!!” – Ibrahim Kawa

While the nature of Johnson’s pending announcement has yet to be confirmed, one would have to assume it pertains to his next fight.

Back on February 1st, BJPENN.com’s Chris Taylor reported that a super-fight between “Mighty Mouse” and the UFC’s current bantamweight champion T.J. Dillashaw was in the works to co-main event July’s UFC 226 pay-per-view fight card in Las Vegas.

“This just in! Per sources – The wheels are officially in motion to have TJ Dillashaw vs. Demetrious Johnson co-headline UFC 226 on July 7 in Las Vegas.” – Chris Taylor on February 1, 2018

UFC 226 is expected to be headlined by a heavyweight title fight featuring current division title holder Stipe Miocic taking on the promotions reigning light heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier.

“I’m fighting Demetrious Johnson, the pound-for-pound best in the world, so if I’m gonna go out there and prove to them I’m the best fighter, I’ve gotta give myself my best chance and that’s to make the weight the right way, very scientifically and be on top of my game,” T.J. Dillashaw said on a recent episode of BJ Penn Radio.

Echoing Dillashaw’s statements, “Mighty Mouse” recently revealed that he had begun negotiations for a super-fight with the UFC’s current bantamweight champ at UFC 226.

Johnson would enter the proposed super-fight having recently made history by defending his title for an eleventh consecutive time, submitting Ray Borg with a gravity-defying flying armbar.

With this win, the flyweight champ extended his current win-streak to an insane 13-straight. Highlights of this streak include defeats of Ian McCall, Joseph Benavidez (twice), John Dodson (twice), John Moraga, Kyoji Horiguchi, Henry Cejudo, Tim Elliot, Wilson Reis and Borg. He’s a ridiculous 27-2-1 overall.

Meanwhile, Dillashaw recently reclaimed the UFC bantamweight title by clubbing his former teammate turned rival Cody Garbrandt with a second-round KO. The win extended Dillashaw’s current win streak to three in a row, his most recent setback being a controversial split-decision loss to Dominick Cruz. Dillashaw is currently 15-3 in sum.
