“No idea [what was up with the logic behind the scores for the Andre Fili fight]. Cause none of the scores are the exact same. The first judge had Andre Fili winning the first and second rounds then me the third round. The second judge had me winning all three rounds, then the third judge had Andre Fili winning the first round and the third round. Now, the thing is…if I, me personally, am gonna give Andre Fili any round that he won, it would be the second. And the third judge gave me the second over the other two. My brain is just blown. Like in the third period, a blind man could have told you that I had won that fight. At least that round. How that judge gave him that third round…I don’t get it.

Last night, in the co-main event of the UFC’s anticipated stop in Charlotte, North Carolina, Team Alpha Male mainstay Andre Fili picked up a split decision win over the UFC’s 11th-ranked featherweight in Dennis Bermudez. While this wins stands out as one of the biggest and most impressive of Fili’s career thus far, not everyone agrees with the judges decision. Shortly after his win, many of his fellow fighters took to Twitter to express their disappointment and confusion with the scoring. Bad call man

A featherweight scrap between Dennis Bermudez and Andre Fili served as the co-main event of tonight’s UFC fight card in Charlotte. Round one begins and Fili starts things off with a jab. Dennis presses forward and lands a jab of his own. He shoots in for a takedown but it is not there. Fili circles off the fence. Bermudez catches him with a jab. Another solid left jab from Dennis. Bermudez misses with a wild right hand. Fili with a pair of jabs. Bermudez ducks under a punch and presses Fili against the cage. Dennis with a nice shot to the body. He lands a knee and then a left hand on the break. Fili takes the center of the octagon and just misses with an attempted uppercut. Fili shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown. Bermudez immediately scrambles back up to his feet. Dennis with a left hand. Fili shoots back in and scores another takedown. Bermudez scrambles up to his feet and then the horn sounds to end round one.

You probably know UFC featherweight fighter Dennis Bermudez. You’ve watched him fight there since 2011, go on a ridiculous seven-fight win streak, even beating Max Holloway early in the champion’s career. You may even know that his next fight will be against Andre Fili at UFC Charlotte.
