Dillon Danis wants to box Amir Khan on Mayweather-McGregor undercard

Conor McGregor‘s fight with Floyd Mayweather is now official. The 12-round, 154-pound boxing match will go down on August 26 in the T-Mobile Arena in glimmering Las Vegas, Nevada.

Now that this massive fight is official, many top MMA fighters are hoping to earn a place on the undercard – and most of them have specific opponents in mind for these prospective undercard bouts. UFC heavyweight champion Stipe Miocic wants boxing champ Anthony Joshua. UFC featherweight Cub Swanson wants Paul Malignaggi. Former UFC flyweight title challenger Wilson Reis wants Mayweather protege Gervonta Davis. Then there’s Jimi Manuwa’s possible boxing match with David Haye, and Anderson Silva’s long discussed showdown with Roy Jones Jr. The list goes on and on.

Of all the MMA fighters to call for boxing matches on the Mayweather-McGregor undercard, however, none have generated quite the same surprise by doing so as Dillon Danis.

Danis, after all, isn’t even really even an MMA fighter yet. Though he is scheduled to make his pro MMA debut under the Bellator banner in the near future, his combat sports career thus far has limited to the jiu jitsu mats. It is for his jiu jitsu skill that he was invited to Ireland to help McGregor train for his rematch with Nate Diaz.

All the same, however, Danis is hoping to box on the Mayweather-McGregor undercard – and he’s hoping to do so against the incredibly talented Amir Khan.

Danis made his callout of Khan on Twitter, assuring the boxer has a “glass chin.”

What do you think of Dillon Danis’ call for a boxing match with Amir Khan? Is the grappler biting off more than he can chew?
