Dominick Cruz feels heartbroken for Ronda Rousey
Former UFC bantamweight kingpin Dominick Cruz suffered his first loss in over nine years at this past December’s UFC 207 event in Las Vegas, where he dropped a lopsided decision to newly crowned 135-pound champion Cody Garbrandt.
Following his shocking loss to “No Love”, Dominick Cruz showed nothing but class in defeat and was praised by fans and media alike for the way he handled the tough loss.
On the same card that Cruz lost his title to Garbrandt (UFC 207), former UFC women’s bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey returned to action for the first time in over a year where she challenged Amanda Nunes for the UF women’s 135-pound crown.
Unfortunately for fans of “Rowdy”, Rousey was starched by “The Lioness” in less than a minute, this after taking a barrage of punches from the hard hitting Brazilian.
Dominick Cruz was a recent guest on “The Joe Rogan Experience” podcast where he discussed Ronda Rousey’s heartbreaking loss and why he has nothing by sympathy for the former women’s champ.
“It is heartbreaking for me as an athlete. I know what she’s feeling and I know what she’s going through. As a female, that’s on another level, I can’t even imagine that. It’s a different level of scrutiny I would imagine. It just shows how hard it is to deal with this man, the ups and downs. The downs hit hard, just as hard as the ups hit. You have to be ready. There can’t be any separation with who you are with a win and a loss, because if there is, it’s going to show. You got to be who you are and not be solely connected to fighting as your whole being, otherwise you are over when it ends.”
“The Dominator” is still waiting on his next assignment from UFC officials.
