“I just got cleared by the doctor so I’m good to go. I’ll talk to [Sean] Shelby, I’ll talk to everybody. I’m on track though.

I am going to fight before the end of the year is my goal. We’ll see what happens. I know TJ Dillashaw and Cody [Garbrandt] are fighting and I should be having the winner of that, that’s what everybody wants to see. So hopefully somebody gets some wits about ’em and gives me that fight right away and we’ll see what happens.”

Dominick Cruz has been plagued by injuries in the midst of the prime of his career. But the multi-time world champion hasn’t let it stop him.

After fighting through what would be career-ending injuries for most, Cruz regained the title he never lost. Late in 2017 when looking to rebound off of his first loss in ten years, the injury bug struck again.

Preparing for his UFC 219 clash with Jimmie Rivera, Cruz would suffer a broken arm that forced him out. After complications with his recovery, it’s kept him out for longer than he obviously would have liked.

Now all good to go, the greatest bantamweight of all time is looking to do the unthinkable and make history again upon his return like he did the last time.

Having not fought since that previously mentioned loss in December 2016 which came to one half of UFC 227’s co-main event, Cody Garbrandt, Cruz eyes the winner of that bout for his comeback.

On the other side of that title fight matchup is the man that took the belt from Garbrandt and the man that Cruz regained it against after his first big return, TJ Dillashaw.

Having put on amazing fights with both men and having the status he does, a rematch certainly is warranted against the winner.

However, things have changed in Cruz’ time out and Marlon Moraes has emerged as a new contender with his stunningly fast knockout of Rivera a few months back. Raphael Assuncao also continues to pile up wins in the super stacked bantamweight division.
