Tom Taylor - October 1, 2017
On October 21, the UFC will take over the Ergo Arena in the beautiful Polish port city of Gdansk. This UFC Gdansk card, also called UFC Fight Night 118, will feature 12 exciting bouts, all of which will be broadcast on the UFC’s streaming service, UFC Fight Pass. The card’s main event will pit long-time UFC lightweight and welterweight contender Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone against rising British contender Darren Till. The bout will mark Cowboy’s chance to rebound from two consecutive losses: a knockout at the hands of Jorge Masvidal, and a close decision loss to former champion Robbie Lawler. Till, meanwhile, will look to improve to a flawless 16-0-1 overall, and take a massive step up the UFC welterweight rankings.

"Gorilla" Darren Till hints at massive weight advantage ahead of bout with "lightweight" Donald Cerrone
Tom Taylor - September 11, 2017
Shortly after Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone agreed to fight Darren Till in the main event of UFC Fight Night 118 in Gdansk, Poland, he told MMAFighting.com that he “didn’t know anything,” about the man he had just agreed to fight. According to Till, who appeared on a recent edition of Talking Brawls podcast, that will soon change. As the much larger man, he expects to blow through “Cowboy.” “Why should he know me?” Till queried on the podcast (h/t SevereMMA.com). “It’s not disrespectful. He’s going to know me when I knock him out. That’s just irrelevant; why should he know me?”

Donald "Cowboy" Cerrone has some advice for teammate Ray Borg
Tom Taylor - September 10, 2017
If things had gone according to the initial plan, 24-year-old flyweight contender Ray Borg would have taken his crack at the seemingly unstoppable UFC flyweight champ Demetrious Johnson in the main event of UFC 215 last night. Regrettably, Borg was forced out of the fight at the very last minute with an illness. While Borg was deemed unfit to compete by the UFC’s medical team, his friend and teammate Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone believes he should have dug in his heels and tried to fight anyway.

Cowboy Cerrone Had No Idea Who Darren Till Was When He Accepted the Fight
Justin Golightly - September 7, 2017
If you didn’t know better, one look at Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone’s Instagram would make you think his MMA training consists of taking wakeboards off of sweet jumps and cold beer at the lake. Don’t worry, he takes time out for his muay thai and jiu jitsu and it shows. This dude ran off an eight fight win streak (and four post-fight bonuses) in the lightweight division, book-ended by losses to Rafael dos Anjos. After jumping up to welterweight, he won four straight until running into Jorge Masvidal and Robbie Lawler. It’s clear he’s not slowing down or taking time to smell the roses. He didn’t even know who Darren Till was and he just agreed to fight him. “[I knew] Absolutely nothing [about Darren Till]. No. Never seen his fights. I don’t know where he’s from. I’m not bagging the dude, just f-ck, I don’t know anybody. I said yes before I even had an opponent. That was [the UFC’s] job to find the opponent. […] My grandma sent me a thing this morning all mad. ‘He called you a c-nt,’ I said, no grandma, that’s just how they speak over there.”

Needless to say, Waterson is one of the best strawweight fighters on earth. If it weren’t for the encouragement of a fellow UFC star, however, she never would have stopped being a ring card girl and started a career as a fighter . That UFC star is fan favorite lightweight turned welterweight Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone. Waterson explains Cowboy’s involvement in her early career in an Interview with The Buzzer on Fox Sports. See it below, followed by a transcription.

Masvidal put on a stellar performance as he rocked Cerrone in the first round, before then ultimately finishing ‘Cowboy’ in the second round with strikes. The loss snapped Cerrone’s 4-fight win streak that saw him finish 4 straight opponents at welterweight throughout the course of 2016 following a 1st round TKO loss to Rafael dos Anjos in 2015 in a failed bid for the lightweight title.
