Donald Cowboy Cerrone fight

Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone, who is ranked in the top-10 at both lightweight and welterweight, is loved for his busy fight schedule, his fan-friendly fighting style, and his wild life outside the cage. Really, the talented Colorado Springs native is just the kind of guy whose brain you’d like to pick over a couple of beers at your local bar.

Though you might not be able to sit down for a beer with Cowboy anytime soon, the fan favorite gunslinger was recently featured in a brief but awesome video, during which he offers up some life advice for those of us that feel like we could use it.

You can watch that video, which is called “Cowboy Up,” at the top of this post.

“As far as I see it, it’s not that complicated,” Cowboy says in the video. “You do the shit you have to do to live the life you want to live. Some of what you have to do is going to suck. Somedays you’re going to be tired. Somedays you’re gonna be sick. Somedays every bone in your body is gonna hurt. But you can sit around and whine about it, or you can cowboy up.”

“Every time you put in the work, it’s like making a deposit in the bank. Make enough deposits, and eventually you can get a withdrawal, and you can do whatever the hell you want with it. You pay in advance for everything good in life, so don’t wait till Monday to start fresh.”

Cowboy’s next fight will see him take on TUF 17 winner Kelvin Gastelum on the main card of UFC 205 in New York City on November 12. If Cowboy wrangles this challenge, he’ll move to a fantastic 4-0 since moving to welterweight in February of this year.

Do you think Cowboy will stick to his winning ways at UFC 205 this November? Sound off, PENN Nation!
