Dustin Poirier promises Tony Ferguson that he will show up to fight!

The surging UFC lightweight contender, Poirier, recently took to Twitter where he offered his services to the current UFC interim lightweight champion Tony Ferguson.

“I’ve never missed weight or pulled out of a fight in 36 fights! Promise you I’ll show up.” – Dustin Poirier

Poirier’s offer to Ferguson came shortly after “El Cucuy” had put Khabib Nurmagomedov on blast for requesting a title fight at December’s UFC 219 event.

Dustin Poirier has been on a roll as of late. “The Diamond” has won six of his last seven fights defeating Bobby Green, Jim Miller, Joseph Duffy, Yancy Medeiros and most recently former champion Anthony Pettis in that time.

Poirier’s win over Pettis came via third-round TKO in the main event of UFC Norfolk earlier this month.

Meanwhile, Tony Ferguson is currently riding an impressive ten fight win streak, his latest being a submission win over Kevin Lee in the main event of UFC 216 which earned “El Cucuy” the promotions interim lightweight title.

As expected, Tony Ferguson is hoping to have a title unification bout with current UFC lightweight champion Conor McGregor. Ferguson has demanded that Conor “defend or vacate” his championship belt.

Unfortunately for fight fans, it appears that McGregor will not be returning to the cage until the Spring of 2018.
