EXCLUSIVE | Dhiego Lima’s TUF 19, Episode 2 Blog

By BJPENN.COM News - April 23, 2014

Fresh off the second episode of ‘TUF 19: Penn vs. Edgar’, Atlanta’s Dhiego Lima, Team Edgar’s second pick, walks us through his first hand experience of what was seen on tonight’s show.

Dhiego is one of the top prospects from this season’s ‘Ultimate Fighter’ reality series and will be blogging for BJPENN.COM each week following the TUF broadcast on FOX Sports 1.

Lets be sure to show some love to the latest edition to our family with a follow on his official twitter account.

His words:

“Finally we get to the house.

It was a long, long day and it was all worth it when we walked into that house. Just thinking about the guys that didn’t make it in, and had to go back home, I was so happy being there.

First thing everyone did was look for the rooms, and when that was settled we hit the kitchen.

So much food it was crazy! We turned the grill on and ate alottt!!

There were 4 rooms in the house, 2 with 5 beds and 2 with 3 beds. Teams were separated so there wouldn’t be any problems.

My roommates were Van Buren “Gutter” and Eddie “Truck” Gordon, also known as the team gutter room, which y’all will soon find out more about. Lol.

First training session was awesome, just to be there and watch a world champion training, it was great. Everyone went extra hard because we didn’t want to disappoint the coaches. But deep inside we were all banged up and hurting from our fights (to get into the house), but with all the cameras and attention we just said “F it”.

We were really worried about Hector’s weight at first, but man, that guy is one of the best weight cutters I have seen. He told us not to worry and he probably dropped like 20lbs in 2 days. We went for a run and he was feeling really good, he has fantastic cardio.

It sucked because we didn’t know anything about Cathal. We knew he was a grinder, but we didn’t see him fight to get in the house.

I thought it was over when Hector landed that punch, but Cathal showed his toughness and came back to win.

I think Hector got too excited when he almost finished him. Then after, he hit an adrenaline dump. But it happens. He’ll be back stronger.

Great for Cathal, because he’s going to have 4 weeks of rest before the semis. Next fight pick, BJ decided to go with Spohn vs Todd, striker vs striker, so it’ll probably be a stand-up-fight. Looking forward to the next one!
