EXCLUSIVE | Featherweight prospect Bobby Moffett eyes UFC Nashville scrap with Bryce Mitchell

By Tom Taylor - January 21, 2019

Riding high on an impressive defeat of Chas Skelly in his UFC debut, red-hot featherweight prospect Bobby Moffett is eager to get back into the cage. And as it turns out, he knows exactly who he’d like to fight and where he’d like to do it.

He’s eyeing a fight with fellow prospect Bryce Mitchell, ideally on the UFC’s March 23 return to Nashville, Tennessee.

Bobby Moffett made his first mention of this potential bout on Twitter.

“I remember meeting Dana White in Tennessee, I wouldn’t mind meeting you there too [Bryce Mitchell],” he wrote on Twitter.

Speaking on the latest episode of BJPENN Radio, Moffett once again expressed interest in a potential fight with Mitchell.

“I literally just Tweeted him back,” Moffett said. “He seems like a nice guy, I think I met him once. He’s pretty nice. But I was like, “I’ll fight you in Tennessee,’ pretty much.”

For Bobby Moffett, of course, the main priority is simply fighting again soon — even if it’s on short-notice.

“I’m guessing I’ll get something short notice,” he said. “I think someone will end up pulling out of a fight or something, and I’ll just step in. ‘Cause I’m always ready, so, I’m looking forward to beating somebody up soon.

“I’ve told my manager, you know, ‘I’m hungry, I want to eat somebody.’ So I told him, short-notice, anything, it doesn’t matter to me. So, hopefully something happens soon. I love the whole process of a fight camp. I love to fight people. You know, obviously I do this for a living, so it’s kind of weird to be in that spot where you don’t have a fight set up, and you’re still training hard, but you’re motivated to get yourself better, but you don’t have a specific human in mind of beating.”
