Exclusive | “It is a win-win for Conor McGregor every time he moves up”
Welterweight standout Lorenz Larkin was a recent guest on BJPENN.com’s Rapid Fire segment with host Chris Taylor where he discussed the highly anticipated UFC 205 lightweight title fight between Eddie Alvarez and Conor McGregor.
The coveted free agent, Larkin, believes that the fight itself is a win-win scenario for “Mystic Mac”. However, “The Monsoon” cannot foresee a scenario in which the Irishman leaves New York City victorious. His words.
“Eddie is either going to put him right on his ass and grind the shit out of him for five rounds or he will finish him off early. At the end of the day it is a win-win for Conor. If he loses he will go back down to 145 with his belt. If he wins then he can go on to make a bigger fight. It is a win-win every time he moves up whether it be at 155 or 170. Because if he loses people are always just going to say that he is a natural featherweight. But I just do not see a scenario where it is going to work out that he will beat Alvarez. Eddie just has a really good all around game.”
Conor McGregor was last seen in action at August’s UFC 202 event in Las Vegas, where he scored a majority decision victory over bitter rival Nate Diaz in a back and forth war which served as that evening’s main event.
Meanwhile, Eddie Alvarez became the UFC lightweight champion this past July in Sin City, when he scored a first-round knockout victory over former title holder Rafael dos Anjos.
