Unfortunately for fans of “Platinum”, the 170-pound slugger suffered his first career setback at December’s UFC on FOX event in Sacramento, dropping a decision loss to surging welterweight contender Alan Jouban on the evenings main card.

Mike Perry is now more eager than ever to get back into the octagon and rebound from the first setback of his career.

“Platinum”, who has recently been lobbying to score a fight with Albert Tumenov, sat down with BJPENN.com’s Chris Taylor on Rapid Fire where he discussed what might come next.

“You know I just really want to get back in there and fight as soon as possible man.”

Prior to his fight with Alan Jouban, Perry had told Taylor that he was eyeing a potential scrap with the loser of UFC 206’s welterweight clash between Donald Cerrone and Matt Brown.

After two rounds of solid action, “Cowboy” was able to catch Brown with a devastating head kick early on in round three that put an end to their UFC 206 co-main event bout.

Taylor asked Perry if he would be interested in a potential scrap with Matt Brown if the bout with Tumenov fails to come to fruition.

“Yea that Matt Brown versus Cerrone scrap was a great fight man. I seen that kick coming everyday and all day. But yea it was a great fight. Both of those guys are good fighters and have a good fan base. But as far as I am concerned fuck them both. Brown is an old man and Cerrone’s time is almost up. If it came down to business between me and Matt Brown, I would end his career.”
