EXCLUSIVE | Stephen Thompson: “Ronda Rousey has a Monster on her hands!”
Former UFC women’s bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey (12-1 MMA) will return to action next month in Las Vegas when she challenges current UFC 135-pound women’s champion Amanda Nunes for the title in the main event of UFC 207.
Rousey was last seen in action at UFC 193 in November of 2015 against Holly Holm. “The Preachers Daughter” shocked the world that evening in Australia by knocking out the previously undefeated “Rowdy” with a devastating head kick.
Prior to the shocking setback, Rousey had put together an incredible twelve-fight win streak which included eleven first-round finishes.
Current UFC welterweight top contender Stephen “Wonderboy” Thompson recently joined host Chris Taylor on BJPENN.com’s Rapid Fire segment where he discussed the return of Ronda Rousey and how “Rowdy” has a massive challenge ahead of her in Amanda Nunes.
“Man, let me tell you Ronda Rousey has a Monster on her hands to be honest with you. Of course Ronda`s last fight she fought a very good striker in Holm, who was not very good at jiu-jitsu as we saw Miehsa Tate take advatnage of that, but this champion she is facing man is just very good at everything. Nunes has heavy hands. Hands that will knock you out and she has solid jiu-jitsu and wrestling. So I think it is going to be a very exciting fight. I am not the type of guy to go out there and make predictions for other fights, mainly because you never know what is actually going to happen in a fight, but I do know this will be a very exciting fight. Ronda Rousey is going out there with something to prove and I really cannot wait for that fight to be honest with you.”
Who do you think will emerge victorious when Ronda Rousey and Amanda Nunes square off for the women’s bantamweight championship at UFC 207 on December 30 in Las Vegas? Sound off PENN Nation!
