EXCLUSIVE | Yoel Romero sends a message to “scared” Michael Bisping following his UFC 217 title loss

Well you knew this was coming! Yoel Romero has sent a clear message to bitter rival Michael Bisping following “The Count’s” UFC 217 title loss to Georges St-Pierre.

In short, “The Soldier of God” was not impressed by Bisping’s performance (GSP voice).

Michael Bisping lost his middleweight title to Georges St-Pierre this past weekend in New York after the Canadian superstar secured a rear-naked choke submission in round-three which ultimately put “The Count” to sleep (watch the finish here).

Yoel Romero recently caught up with BJPENN.com’s Chris Taylor where he discussed UFC 217’s main event title fight between Georges St-Pierre and Michael Bisping.

“Yes I watched it (UFC 217). Ya it was good fight, but it was a business fight. I mean it goes to show about Bisping.” Romero said laughing. “He did not want to fight the top guys. He wanted to fight against a guy who had taken four years off and he still ended up losing!”

As for when fans can expect to see “The Soldier of God” back in the cage, Romero is not sure but hopes it will be soon.

“I don’t know when I’ll fight again. I would love to fight again this year. But maybe that is to close. It is almost the end of 2017.”

Romero continued:

“Right now I only think about the belt. That is the only thing I think about. There is no other option in your head. I think if St-Pierre vacates then I would love a rematch with Whittaker. There is also Michael Bisping. I know a lot of people want to see me fight him.”

Yoel Romero is adamant that newly crowned middleweight champion Georges St-Pierre will not return to fight again at 185-pounds.

“Georges will not stay at middleweight because he doesn’t want to fight the top guys either. Just like Bisping did not want to fight the top guys. We all know this. I want to rematch Robert Whittaker for the UFC championship after GSP vacates the title. Once I become the champion I will then callout Michael Bisping for a title fight in London this March. The only way Bisping will ever fight me is if I am the champion. So I have to beat Robert Whittaker. Bisping is scared. He has always been scared. But he would fight me for the title. I know this. I want to beat him up in England as the champion.”
