What is next for Georges St-Pierre if he defeats Michael Bisping?

Former UFC welterweight kingpin Georges St-Pierre will make his highly anticipated octagon return later this year when he squares off with current UFC middleweight champion Michael Bisping.

In a recent interview on BJPENN.com’s Rapid Fire segment, host Chris Taylor spoke to surging welterweight contender Alan Jouban about the return of GSP.

Taylor discussed the possibility of what could be next if St-Pierre did emerge victorious against Bisping and win the UFC middleweight title.

Taylor asked Jouban if he thought ‘GSP’ could deal with the size of middleweights such as Luke Rockhold or Chris Weidman.

“It’s not happening.” Alan responded. “Yea I don’t know what would be next. Like I said if I had to put money on it, I would have to bet on Bisping winning. Michael has been so consistent and has been fighting top caliber athletes and St-Pierre hasn’t.”

He continued:

“But even if he did beat Bisping, you are exactly right. What does he do? Is he going to go and try to out wrestle Jacare? Or he trues to go against Luke Rockhold who is enormous. I don’t see it happening man. I mean maybe if he wins the title then he will just continue on trying to do super-fights or something. But I don’t seem him standing much of a chance against the top UFC middleweights. I mean I get it. He says he is back for the ‘Money fights’ and what not. It is fun to have him back. But to be honest man I would have been more intrigued to see him back at welterweight or even a lighter weight class. Like can you imagine GSO at 155? Wow. That sounds more exciting then ok he just doesn’t feel like cutting the weight anymore so he is fighting Michael Bisping at middleweight. So yea it is a fight I will definitely watch, but I would have been more intrigued to see him fight at 170 or 155 for sure.”
