Fabricio Werdum and Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira name their ‘TUF: Brazil 2’ coaching staffs | UFC News
Fabricio Werdum (16-5-1 MMA, 4-2 UFC) and Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira (34-7-1 MMA, 5-3 UFC) have named their coaching staffs for “The Ultimate Fighter: Brazil 2.”
Team Werdum features notables Wanderlei Silva (MMA), Rafael Cordeiro (muay Thai), Rubens Cobrinha (jiu-jitsu), Kenny Johnson (wrestling) and Felipe Werdum (capoeira), according to a report from Globo.
Team Nogueira, meanwhile, features Antonio Rogerio Nogueira (MMA), Everaldo Penco (jiu-jitsu), Eric Albarracin (wrestling), Sheymon Moraes (muay Thai) and Vitor Miranda (kickboxing).
Following the “TUF: Brazil 2” season, Nogueira and Werdum will meet in the traditional season-ending coaches’ fight, though an exact date has not been finalized. The heavyweight bout will serve as a rematch between the two, as Nogueira defeated Werdum by decision back at a 2006 PRIDE event.
Nogueira, who also coached “TUF 8,” is coming off a submission victory over Dave Herman at UFC 153 in Rio. “Big Nog” will be looking to post back-to-back wins for the first time in nearly five years.
Werdum, who has gone 5-1 in his past six fights, most recently defeated Mike Russow via TKO back at UFC 147 in June. Werdum also holds recent victories over the likes of Antonio Silva and Fedor Emelianenko.
“The Ultimate Fighter: Brazil 2” begins filming early next year for an expected March debut.
