MMA legend Fedor Emelianenko recently stated that he would like to get a rematch with UFC heavyweight champion Fabricio Werdum. The two met in Strikeforce in 2010 where Werdum pulled off a major upset on the highly touted Emelianenko.

Vadim Finkelchtein, long-time friend and former manager of Emelianenko spoke about Emelianenko’s recent statement in a report from Bloody Elbow about wanting a rematch with Werdum.

“I think if Fedor wanted to fight in the UFC, he would have already been there.”

Finkelchtein also commented on “The Last Emporer” working under the RIZIN promotion.

“If I know the place and the participants of the fight, I immediately distribute the information to sell tickets to the event,” Finkelchtein said of RIZIN’s method of announcing bouts for their events with Emelianenko.

“Why hide this information? Perhaps this is a new feature of some sort — a new marketing approach to the promotion of the fight (smiling). I know this method is probably some kind of novelty.”
