Felice Herrig comments on opponent Justin Kish’s mid-fight accident
Over the weekend, on the main card of UFC Fight Night 112, strawweight veteran Felice Herrig scored an impressive decision win over the highly regarded Justine Kish. With this win, Herrig moved onto an impressive, three-fight win-streak and reestablished herself as a definite contender in the UFC strawweight division.
Unfortunately, Herrig’s impressive win has been somewhat overshadowed by a mid-fight accident, during which brown splotches began to appear on the surface of the Octagon. It was later learned that Kish – who made light of the incident with incredible confidence – briefly lost control of her bowel during the fight.

In a subsequent interview with TMZ sports, Herrig commented on this unfortunate incident, applauding Kish for taking it in stride, and suggesting that she herself would be much less willing to do so.
“This is so hard because I don’t want to talk sh*t,” she said (h/t MMAFighting.com). I did know [Kish defecated]. This is really hard. I really like Justine. Justine and I were cool. We’re friends and I feel like if I was in this position I wouldn’t want people talking about it and making fun of me. MMA fans are relentless and if that happened to me I honestly wouldn’t want to show my face ever again. I probably wouldn’t want to fight ever again.
“I know Justine’s making light of it. She made a funny Tweet about it saying “s**t happens.”
With her defeat of Kish, Herrig improved to 4-1 in the UFC’s Octagon, and 13-6 overall. In defeat, Kish tasted defeat for the first time as a pro mixed martial artist. She’s now 2-1 in the UFC, and 6-1 overall.
