VIDEO | Francis Ngannou drilling leg kicks is the scariest thing you’ll see today

Over the weekend, in the main event of UFC Auckland, hulking UFC heavyweight contender Derrick Lewis experienced a hype-derailing loss to the veteran Mark Hunt. Shortly after this loss, Lewis surprised onlookers by announcing that he may have fought his last fight in the UFC’s Octagon. Given that real heavyweight contenders are few and far between, Lewis’ departure from the sport would be a definite disappointment. Luckily, we still have his rival Francis Ngannou, who has simultaneously made his own rise up the UFC heavyweight ranks.

Francis Ngannou

While Lewis battled Hunt in New Zealand, Ngannou was back in his new home of Las Vegas, Nevada. The heavyweight destroyer relocated to Vegas from Paris in search of more elite training partners and high-level coaching and facilities.

Apparently, one thing Ngannou has been working on in his new home is his leg kicks. If recent footage is to be believed, the Frenchman’s thunderous leg kicks could end up being a real problem for his future opponents.

See some footage of Ngannou drilling leg kicks and leg-kick defence below:

When we last saw Francis Ngannou in action, he levelled former UFC heavyweight champion Andrei Arlovski with a series of first-round punches. Prior to that win, he submitted the game Anthony Hamilton with a bone-bending kimura. Ngannou preceded these wins with defeats of Bojan Mihajlović, Curtis Blaydes and Luis Henrique. He is 5-0 in the UFC, and 10-1 in sum.

At the moment, Ngannou does not have a fight booked, though he has expressed interest in showdowns with Alistair Overeem, Cain Velasquez and Junior Dos Santos.

Apparently, the UFC is working on a fight between Ngannou and Dos Santos for this coming August, though nothing has been confirmed just yet.

Who do you want to see the dangerous Francis Ngannou fight next? Do you think will ever wear UFC heavyweight gold?
