PHOTOS | Former UFC owner Frank Fertitta buys $70 million penthouse in Manhattan

Mid-way through 2016, the UFC was sold to WME-IMG for upward of $4 billion. Needless to say, those that had a stake in the company at the time pocketed a pretty penny. One of the most significant owners at the time of the sale was Frank Fertitta, brother of Lorenzo Fertitta. Together, the brothers owned 81% of the mixed martial arts promotion. It is estimated that, with the sale of the UFC, Frank Fertitta pocketed about $800 million, which in turn elevated his net worth to something in the area of $2 billion. In other words, he’s loaded.

According to New York Post columnist Jennifer Gould Keil, the absurdly wealthy Fertitta recently made a pretty extravagant purchase, buying a Manhattan penthouse with a price tag of $70 million.

See some photos of Fertitta’s new digs, courtesy of ESPN Sports Business reporter Daren Rovell on Twitter, below (warning, they will probably trigger intense envy and disappointment with your current living arrangement – proceed at your peril).

As Keil states in her NYPost.com article, this glimmering apartment is a 9100 square-foot behemoth. If the pictures are indeed accurate, it includes an palatial foyer and a sprawling terrace overlooking Park Avenue.

Fertitta’s new Manhattan headquarters will be useful if he plans to attend UFC 217, which goes down this November 4 inside Madison Square Garden. The card will be headlined by a middleweight title fight between champ Michael Bisping and challenger Georges St-Pierre, and co-headlined by a bantamweight title fight between champ Cody Garbrandt and challenger TJ Dillashaw.
