Georges St-Pierre doesn’t want ‘a free pass’ like Brock Lesnar

Former UFC welterweight kingpin Georges St-Pierre has announced that he has started the process to be tested by USADA so that he can be eligible to fight in the UFC once again.

While basically all athletes fighting in the UFC need four months of testing done by USADA to be eligible to fight, WWE superstar Brock Lesnar was given an exemption from the full four months, and still failed his drug tests that were taken before his UFC 200 fight.

While St-Pierre is guaranteed to be a big draw in his return fight, “Rush” says that he doesn’t want to be an exception like Lesnar.

“Yeah exactly, but he had a free pass, I think it was an exemption of a month or something like that,” St-Pierre told Bloody Elbow. “But me, I don’t want to be an exception, because I was very outspoken about Performance Enhancing Drugs. It would be bad for my reputation if I would have an exemption – I don’t want to have a free pass, I want to be like everybody else. That’s why I’ll be starting the process Aug 10. I don’t have any fight yet, but it’s gonna happen now, because I’m getting tested, if I’m getting tested it’s for a reason.”
