GSP wants Conor McGregor or Nate Diaz: “If it’s what the fans want…”
Since former welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre announced that he would be taking an indefinite hiatus from MMA following his 2013 split decision win over Johny Hendricks, there has been much speculation as to when GSP would return to the Octagon.
Following Michael Bisping’s historic win over Luke Rockhold in the main event of UFC 199, St-Pierre announced that he was ready to end his retirement, and return to the Octagon for a fight with Bisping.
St-Pierre spoke on The MMA Hour to discuss the situation:
“Look, I do not run after these guys (McGregor and Nate Diaz), I do not run after him, but if they call me out and if it’s what the fans want, I know he’s a big draw – a huge draw. I’m interested in fighting in fighting him. And I think I can beat both of these guys too.
“As a fighter, I’m confident you know that I’m the best. Like I said, the world doesn’t turn around me. It’s something that I want. But if it’s something the UFC want to do they’ve got my number, they know where to reach me.”
