Angry Jacare Souza wants double KO for Michael Bisping vs. Georges St-Pierre
While an official date for Michael Bisping vs. Georges St-Pierre has yet to be announced, the UFC has officially announced that former welterweight kingpin Georges St-Pierre will be returning to the UFC later this year to fight UFC middleweight champion Michael Bisping for the middleweight strap.
While fight fans are rather excited for the booking, as former middleweight champion Chris Weidman pointed out, the fight holds up the rest of the middleweight division quite a bit.
Top contender Jacare Souza, who remains on the cusp of a title shot, spoke to Combate to give his thoughts on Bisping vs. St-Pierre, saying:
“I knew it. I thought this might happen. In fact, anything can happen in the UFC, huh? What bothers me is not that GSP is fighting Bisping, that’s normal, he can fight him. But he never fought at 185, he always said he was too small. He chickened out of that Anderson Silva fight, everyone knows that. Now he’s back and he wants to fight at 185? Okay, cool. Wanna fight? Fight me. I’m here, come get me if you want to earn that. I’m sure you can’t pass that test. Face Yoel Romero. Beat that guy and you can face Bisping. No, he went straight for the belt. That’s weird. It’s bad for division, because nobody likes all this clowning around.”
“I want them to suffer a double KO. Screw those guys. I couldn’t care less about that fight. That’s the same thing I said when Bisping fought Dan Henderson, I don’t care, I won’t even watch that crap. I’m a champion, I wasn’t born to fill in for anybody. If they call me, they’ll be left hanging, because I sure as shit won’t go.”
This comes on the heels of Souza weighing-in ‘just in case’ at UFC 205 back in November.
