The MMA community currently going wild in regards to a potential Georges St-Pierre return to the UFC. After nearly a 3 year hiatus from the Octagon following his UFC 167 split decision win over Johny Hendricks, St-Pierre’s camp reached out to Michael Bisping to request a title shot against the middleweight champ. It’s been nearly 3 years since former UFC welterweight kingpin Georges St-Pierre was in the Octagon. In St-Pierre’s last fight, he won a controversial split decision over Johny Hendricks. Following the bout, St-Pierre ultimately retired from MMA. Since then, there has been much speculation as to whether or not GSP would return to the Octagon. While initial rumors put GSP’s return at UFC 200, we now know that St-Pierre will not be returning at the historic event. In the wake of Michael Bisping winning the middleweight championship at UFC 199 earlier this month, Tristar gym head coach Firas Zahabi is all for seeing GSP return and fight Michael Bisping.

The former welterweight kingpin has been training, however there’s been no word yet on whether or not he will be returning to the Octagon. With Conor McGregor retiring yesterday, and subsequently being pulled from his UFC 200 rematch with Nate Diaz, many are wondering if St-Pierre will be tapped to fill in against Nate Diaz given that his talks with the UFC have reportedly been going well.

Former UFC welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre has not made any official announcement regarding a return to fighting in the Octagon but has revealed that he is in negotiations with the UFC on fighting once again. “I don’t know 100 percent,” St-Pierre said to Ariel Helwani on Monday’s episode of the MMA Hour. “We are training and doing some testing, tuning up and stuff like that. We are talking with UFC, we will see what is gonna happen.”
