Nate Diaz returned to the Octagon at UFC 241 and successfully beat Anthony Pettis via unanimous decision. After the fight, he called for a fight against Jorge Masvidal, but he also wants George St-Pierre to fight his brother, Nick Diaz. The former two-division UFC champion St-Pierre retired earlier this year but hasn’t fought since his 2017 win over Michael Bisping at UFC 217. The 23-year-old German- born fighter knocked out Joaquim Silva in the second round in brutal fashion, winning a Performance of the Night bonus for his handiwork. That being said, a large portion of the MMA community is still clinging to the hope that the former UFC welterweight and middleweight champion will eventually dust off his gloves and return to the Octagon — perhaps in pursuit of a third title against UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov. UFC President Dana White says that won’t be happening, as St-Pierre didn’t hold up his end of the deal after battling Michael Bisping for the middleweight title in 2017. He doesn’t seem to trust the Canadian after this incident.

The long rumored fight between UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov and interim champ Dustin Poirier is now official for UFC 242. According to ESPN’s Brett Okamoto, who spoke with Nurmagomedov’s manager Ali Abdelaziz, this fight will mark the first obligation on a brand new UFC contract for the Russian champion. More interestingly still, this contract allegedly includes a clause in the event that Nurmagomedov ever gets his long desired fight with Georges St-Pierre.

From the sounds of it, former UFC welterweight and middleweight champion Georges St-Pierre could be the next mixed martial arts star to make the jump to pro wrestling — although perhaps only on a one-off basis. St-Pierre claims WWE approached him at the ESPN awards, and that he directed them to contact his management. Based on his comments, it seems like some kind of deal could potentially be reached with the pro wrestling institution, although the Canadian legend clarified that he is not interested in a full-time wrestling career.
