Opponent says former champ Germaine de Randamie has been sidelined with hand injury

It has not been an easy year for Germaine de Randamie.

Though she began the year on a high note, beating Holly Holm to become the inaugural UFC women’s featherweight queen, she was then stripped of the title when she refused to defend her belt against the consensus best female featherweight alive, Cris “Cyborg” Justino.

From there, things went from bad to worse, as she was forced out of her return to the bantamweight division – a planned fight with Marion Reneau – with an injury. Now, that trend appears to be continuing, as she has apparently been forced out of yet another bout with a hand injury.

This, according to her planned opponent Ketlen Vieira.

I came to tell you that this fight was canceled, because my opponent has her hand injured to fight, but strange that until two days ago her hand was in good condition, she even posted a trained video,” Vieira said in her post to Instagram. “But God knows everything and I trust his plans, because his plans are better than mine. Thank you guys for the strength, and I continue in focus training and awaited.”
