UFC veteran Jeremy Stephens returns to the Octagon in November against Arnold Allen

UFC featherweight veteran Jeremy Stephens will return to the Octagon when he takes on Arnold Allen at a UFC Vegas event in November. MMAjunkie.com’s Nolan King was the first to release the news that Stephens vs. Allen is being targeted to take place at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas on November 7. That event is scheduled to be headlined by a five-round light heavyweight matchup pitting Glover Teixeira against Thiago Santos. Stephens vs. Allen will fit in nicely on the undercard.

Tonight at UFC 249 at the VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena in Jacksonville, Florida, Jeremy Stephens faced off against Calvin Kattar. Their featherweight collision got off to a hasty start as Stephens came in at 150.5 lbs during the weigh-in, 4.5 pounds over the 145 lbs weight division. Kattar also tipped the scaled at 146 pounds, but he entered the fight as a -230 favorite (according to BetOnline).

Jeremy Stephens vs. Calvin Kattar moved to UFC 249

An exciting featherweight bout between Jeremy Stephens and Calvin Kattar has been moved to the upcoming UFC 249 card in Brooklyn. Stephens vs. Kattar was originally slated for UFC 248 in March, the pay-per-view headlined by UFC middleweight champion Israel Adesanya vs. Yoel Romero, but it has now been moved to UFC 249, the April pay-per-view headlined by UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov vs. Tony Ferguson. Along with the women’s strawweight rematch between former champs Rose Namajunas and Jessica Andrade, the UFC 249 card is starting to look really strong.

Rodriguez accidentally poked Stephens in the eye and after Stephens couldn’t open it, the doctor had to step in and stop the fight just 15 seconds in. Fans responded by throwing garbage into the center of the Octagon. Although Rodriguez told the media after the fight that he believed Stephens should be given the benefit of the doubt for not continuing, it seems as though Rodriguez has changed his tune.

The outcome left fans in the arena very upset with the decision, and they threw beer and popcorn into the cage.
