Daniel Cormier: I'd sleep "Gustafsson's cheerleader" Jimi Manuwa
Tom Taylor - May 30, 2017
Last weekend, during the UFC’s latest trip to Stockholm, Sweden, British light heavyweight contender Jimi Manuwa was on site to support his training partner Alexander Gustafsson as he battled Glover Teixeira. When Gustafsson won this fight via fifth-round knockout, Manuwa was unsurprisingly supportive. Manuwa’s post-fight applause of Gustafsson generated a response from UFC light heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier, who pointed out that, in victory, Gustafsson may have jumped ahead of Manuwa in the race for a title shot. This comment from DC then generated a response from a fan, which in turn started a heated Twitter battle with Manuwa.
Dan Hardy: Jimi Manuwa's KO of Corey Anderson was "the scariest thing I've ever seen."
Tom Taylor - May 28, 2017
As the color commentator for most of the UFC’s trips to Europe, Dan Hardy has had a front row seat for some pretty incredible moments. One of those moments occurred in the main event of the UFC’s most recent trip to London, England, which went down earlier this year. In that main event, England’s own Jimi Manuwa scored a crushing, first-round knockout over the talented Corey Anderson, sealing the deal with a blistering left hand. According to Hardy, who was closer to the action than anyone but the referee and ringside cameramen, this knockout was one of the scariest things he’d ever seen.
Jimi Manuwa on Daniel Cormier's trash talk: He didn't have a lot to say backstage face-to-face

Jimi Manuwa and Daniel Cormier have been building up a potential fight with each other with Manuwa climbing his way up to a title shot, currently sitting at #3 on the official UFC light heavyweight rankings. Cormier and Manuwa even agreed to fight during a heated twitter exchange. However, Manuwa said when it came down to seeing each other in person when they were both backstage at an event, Cormier didn’t have much to say when they were in close proximity.
Jimi Manuwa hopes to be on Cormier-Jones card, will be ready to replace either man
Tom Taylor - April 27, 2017
When Jimi Manuwa knocked out Corey Anderson in their March light heavyweight showdown, he established himself as one of the top contenders at light heavyweight. In fact, were it not for the looming return of former champion Jon Jones, Manuwa could well be looking at a shot at reigning champ Daniel Cormier right now. Given that Jones is likely to return to the cage to an immediate title shot against Cormier at UFC 214, however, Manuwa has confirmed to BJPenn.com that he’s got another fight in the works, and that he hopes it occurs on the same card as this Cormier-Jones fight. The reason Manuwa wants to be on this card is that it gives him the opportunity to replace either man, should one be forced to withdraw from the fight.

Manuwa’s latest comments on these light heavyweight greats occurred on Wednesday’s edition of BJ Penn Radio, when he discussed a possible showdown with Cormier.

Jimi Manuwa: Jon Jones "knows he needs a warm-up fight"
Tom Taylor - April 19, 2017
Under normal circumstances, Jimi Manuwa’s back-to-back knockouts of Ovince St. Preux and Corey Anderson probably would have earned him a shot at Daniel Cormier’s UFC light heavyweight title. With the return of former champion Jon Jones towering on the horizon, however, the contendership picture at light heavyweight is far from normal. Earlier this week, UFC President Dana White confirmed to ESPN that, if the former champion Jones is ready to return in time for UFC 214 on July 29, he will be granted an immediate title shot against Cormier, who he defeated by decision back in January of 2014. The other possibility, of course, is that Jones – who has not fought in more than a year – isn’t ready in time for July 29. In this event, the next title shot will go to Manuwa, and Jones will be given a so-called tuneup fight (we explored that possibility here).

After being turned down by multiple fighters, Jimi Manuwa only interested in 4 opponents for next fight
Tom Taylor - March 20, 2017
Last weekend, in the main event of the UFC’s latest trip to London, England, the UK’s own Jimi Manuwa scored a crushing, first-round knockout of the game Corey Anderson. With this win, which followed a similarly impressive knockout of Ovince St. Preux, Manuwa reaffirmed his status as one of the best light heavyweights on earth, and one of the top contenders in the division. With this latest win, there are many interesting options available for Manuwa’s next fight. Apparently, however, there are only four opponents he’s willing to accept at this point: light heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier, upcoming title challenger Anthony “Rumble” Johnson, former champion Jon Jones, or boxer David Haye.
