UFC lightweight veterans Jim Miller and Joe Lauzon went to war at last night’s UFC on FOX 21 event in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. The bout, which was later awarded “Fight of the night” honors, went the full fifteen minutes and in the end Jim Miller was awarded a split-decision victory from the judges.

Earlier this month, at UFC 200, UFC veterans Joe Lauzon and Jim Miller both emerged from their respective bouts with KO wins. Miller kicked off the event on the UFC Fight Pass prelims, knocking out MMA legend Takanori Gomi in the very first round, ending his 2-fight losing streak.

While UFC 200 is stacked with quite a few high-profile bouts such as McGregor vs. Diaz II, Tate vs. Nunes, and Aldo vs. Edgar II, one fight that promises to deliver fireworks is Diego Sanchez vs. Joe Lauzon. The pair have combined for 18 post-fight bonuses over the course of their UFC careers. Given that, it’s no surprise that Sanchez vs. Lauzon is one of the most highly anticipated fights on the July 9th card.

A bout that has “Fight of the Night” written all over it is being targeted for UFC 200. MMA Fighting reports that the UFC is working on putting a fight together between Joe Lauzon and Diego Sanchez. The TUF veterans were originally scheduled to fight back at UFC 180, but injuries suffered by both Lauzon and Sanchez caused the bout to be thrown out.
