Joe Rogan no longer wants to interview fighters after a KO loss
Former Strikeforce and DREAM heavyweight champion Alistair Overeem suffered a first-round knockout loss to reigning UFC heavyweight champion Stipe Miocic in the headlining bout of yesterday’s UFC 203 pay-per-view event in Cleveland, Ohio.
After dropping Miocic early on in round one, Alistair locked in a tight guillotine choke and appeared to be well on his way to a victory. However, much to the disappointment of “Reem” fans, Stipe somehow fought off the submission attempt and got back to his feet.
Shortly after Overeem’s submission attempt failed, Miocic was able to get Alistair to the floor where he unleashed some brutal ground and pound which resulted in the eventual knockout win.
Minutes after the loss “The Reem” was interviewed by UFC commentator Joe Rogan where he suggested that he had felt Miocic tapout during his guillotine choke.
Rogan refuted Overeem’s claim and then showed the veteran fighter video evidence that Miocic did not in fact tapout at any point during the chokehold.
It was a very awkward situation and one that Joe Rogan has asked the UFC to never let transpire again. Here is what Joe had to say on Twitter:
I asked the UFC brass if we could please refrain from interviewing fighters after they've been KO'ed. I don't think it's wise nor fair.

If you've ever talked to a friend who has been KO'ed their perception of reality can be drastically off & their memory is severely impaired.
