Joe Rogan feels that Conor McGregor is "getting special treatment," and that's "f**ked up"
Tom Taylor - April 19, 2018
Earlier this month, former UFC lightweight champ Conor McGregor travelled to Brooklyn, New York for UFC 223, and promptly went ballistic. The Irishman ran amok inside the UFC 223 host venue, throwing a dolly through the window of a shuttle bus carrying a number of fighters, and injuring two of them. In the wake of this ridiculous incident, we’ve all been waiting keenly to see what kind of repercussions the Irishman will face from the UFC, the Barclay’s Center, the New York State Athletic Commission, and the fighters he injured.
Joe Rogan responds to backlash surrounding controversial Nurmagomedov-Iaquinta commentary
Tom Taylor - April 9, 2018
Joe Rogan’s commentary during the UFC 223 main event, which saw Khabib Nurmagomedov defeat a last-minute opponent in Al Iaquinta, drew the ire of many MMA fans. The criticism was that Rogan’s commentary leaned to far in the direction of Iaquinta, and simultaneously disparaged the skill of Nurmagomedov. Late on Sunday night, Joe Rogan responded to this backlash, offering an explanation—and an apology—in a lengthy Instagram post.

Joe Rogan comments on UFC 223 main event drama
Tom Taylor - April 2, 2018
Yesterday evening, we learned that Tony Ferguson had been forced out of his UFC 223 showdown with Khabib Nurmagomedov with a freak leg injury, and that UFC featherweight champ Max Holloway would be moving up a weight class to replace him on just six days notice. Less than 24 hours after this news broke, we’re all still trying to wrap our heads around it. UFC color commentator Joe Rogan is no exception to that. On Monday morning—once he was sure this whole ordeal wasn’t some elaborate April Fools prank—Rogan posted to Twitter to give his thoughts on the matter. He, like most of us, is heartbroken. That said, he expects his heartbreak to give way to excitement, as he gradually stops mourning the loss of Ferguson vs. Nurmagomedov, and anticipating a truly insane matchup in Nurmagomedov vs. Holloway.
VIDEO | Joe Rogan is Not a Fan of The Win Bonus System
Justin Golightly - March 22, 2018
If you’re not familiar with how things usually go for most UFC fighters, you get money to show and money to win. Some fighters have negotiated flat rates for some fights, most notably fighters like Conor McGregor and Frankie Edgar. Joe Rogan isn’t a fan of the system and thinks it should be done away with, especially with the way fights are judged lately. “I just don’t like the win bonus. I don’t think anybody fights harder for it. […] That to me is a real issue. I think a guy should be paid what they get paid. I think if you have a contract, that contract should be for ‘X’ amount of money. If you have points on the pay-per-view, that’s on top of that.”
Joe Rogan comments on Jon Jones situation: I really hope he gets through this
Tom Taylor - February 28, 2018
Yesterday afternoon, former UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones met with the CSAC, where he was handed his punishment for his latest failed drug test. The commission pulled no punches, revoking his license, and fining him 40% of his UFC 214 fight purse. Because Jones is still awaiting a suspension from the United States Anti-Doping Agency (USADA), one can be quite confident that it’ll be a long time before we see him back in the cage. Given his status as one of MMA’s true greats, this is undeniably unfortunate.
Joe Rogan praises Cerrone and Medeiros for their fight, Nick Diaz disagrees
Tom Taylor - February 22, 2018
On Thursday morning, UFC color commentator Joe Rogan took to Instagram to praise Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone and Yancy Medeiros for their thrilling scrap at UFC Austin – a card he was off-duty for. Rogan, like many, was blown away by the respect the two welterweights showed each other during this brief but exciting battle. I just got home from the @icehousecc and decided to unwind by rewatching this epic fight between @yancymedeiros and @cowboycerrone. This fight wasn’t just epic because it launched cowboy into a 3 way tie with @mikebisping and @georgesstpierre for the most wins ever in the UFC (20). It was also a special fight in that one of the things that was so enjoyable about the fight was the respect the two had for each other, both before and after their one round of chaos. They even embraced in friendship in the middle of a round, and I fucking loved it. They briefly paused to hug and then went right back to a full tilt brawl. They both just went for it with pure respect and love for each other, and they both swung for the fences. Cowboy wound up connecting with a pinpoint right hand and wound up getting the stoppage right before the buzzer. It was epic, and then again, after it was over there was nothing but love and respect. I thought it was all around an awesome experience to watch it even a second time. Thank you, gentlemen, for a great moment in MMA, and a really fun fight to watch.
VIDEO | Joe Rogan Goes Off on Li Jingliang's 'F-cking Bullsh-t' UFC 221 Eye Gouge
Justin Golightly - February 15, 2018
With as many awesome things that happened at UFC 221, it’s still hard to move on from that absolutely egregious eye gouge that Li Jingliang did to Jake Matthews to get out of a guillotine choke. While Matthews was all class about it after the fact, it hasn’t stopped fans, media and other fighters from scolding Jingliang for the foul. Joe Rogan recently spoke up about it on his recent show and wasn’t happy about what he did in the very least. “I thought it was f-cking bullsh-t. You can’t let a guy get away with that, or he’s going to do it again. […] You don’t do it that way. You tap. It’s straight up cheating; it’s not just shady. It’s cheating. They should tell him, ‘If this ever happens again, if you ever think you’re going to do this again, we’re going to kick you out of the league.’ You can’t do that. You can’t gouge someone’s eye when they’re choking you. It felt like the fingers were in long enough for him to know the fingers were in there. The referee f-cked up. The UFC should do something. Someone should do something.”
Joe Rogan breaks down MMA bouts between Floyd Mayweather and McGregor, CM Punk
Tom Taylor - February 14, 2018
Floyd Mayweather’s potential move to MMA is a seriously hot topic these days. Of course, it’s unlikely the legendary boxer would have much of a chance in the UFC’s Octagon – particularly against his arch rival Conor McGregor. Speaking on Tuesday’s edition of The Joe Rogan Experience MMA Show UFC commentator Joe Rogan broke down Mayweather’s chances of success in a potential MMA bout with McGregor. Unsurprisingly, he thinks they’re incredibly slim.
Joe Rogan believes Yamasaki should have stopped Cachoeira fight earlier, also criticizes matchmaking
Tom Taylor - February 7, 2018
Last Saturday, in the co-main event of the UFC’s trip to Belem, Brazilian flyweight Priscila Cachoeira stepped into the Octagon for the first time. Despite the fact she was making her UFC debut with just 8 pro fights behind her, her opponent was the vastly more experienced Valentina Shevchenko, who is widely regarded as one of the best female fighters on earth. In the end, Cachoeira’s experiential deficit manifested itself in a truly lopsided win for Shevchenko. The Kyrgyzstani contender out-landed her young Brazilian adversary by an insane 230-3 margin en route to a second-round submission win. It was one of the most brutal beatdowns to hit our screens in a long, long time .
VIDEO | Joe Rogan talks about Tony Ferguson's angry tweet at him for praising Khabib Nurmagomedov
Russell Sai - January 3, 2018
Khabib Nurmagomedov dazzled a lot of people with his performance over Edson Barboza at UFC 219. Although a few people including Conor McGregor and Tony Ferguson were not so impressed by Nurmagomedov’s performance, UFC commentator Joe Rogan was blown away and has talked about a matchup between McGregor and Nurmagomedov as that is undeniably a very intriguing matchup in the UFC lightweight division. Ferguson tweeted after UFC 219, “Yo @joerogan Last Time I Checked I Was The Fuckin Champ… U Trading The 10P Gear For A Hat?”
Broadcaster Jimmy Smith tells Joe Rogan why he left Bellator
Tom Taylor - January 3, 2018
Last week, the MMA world was hit with the news that Bellator MMA had parted ways with long-time color commentator Jimmy Smith. Given that Smith is a bottomless pit of MMA knowledge with charisma to boot, this news came as a definite surprise. Apparently, however, the broadcaster’s departure from Bellator was quite amicable. Jimmy Smith broke down his Bellator exit on a recent episode of The Joe Rogan Experience MMA Show.
VIDEO | Mirko Cro Cop Says He'll Never Be on Joe Rogan's Podcast
Justin Golightly - January 2, 2018
If there is one guy that you don’t want mad at you, it’s Mirko Cro Cop or else you’ll find out firsthand the meaning behind his right leg, hospital; left leg, cemetery motto. He’s an absolute legend in the sport and has accomplished insane things in his storied career, but he’s still not done just yet. Fresh off his win on New Year’s Eve over Tsuyoshi Kohsaka, he moves on to an apparent beef with Joe Rogan over some comments on his podcast. While the video which is not in English was translated by translated by Darsus on Reddit, we have been provided with another translation by Roko Skender of the Perth Titans, a group of MMA enthusiasts who are involved at a community level helping youth and disadvantaged kids. “I’ll tell you when [I will go on Joe Rogan’s podcast], and sorry for this phrase but you’ll see me on Joe Rogan’s podcast when my dick grows legs because Joe Rogan upset me. You know what, he is rude. He’s really rude. He started on me so many times, you know. He starts talking and it always begins with something positive, which should be the case, something positive about my career, and then he starts gossiping. He first spreads stories that I carried millions of dollars in a suitcase, which is physically impossible.”
Joe Rogan questions if Jon Jones' poor decisions outside the Octagon could be associated with brain injury
Russell Ess - December 28, 2017
Jon Jones is one of the most talented athletes that we have ever seen in the Octagon. However, Jones has shown that his biggest adversary has always been himself with some of his actions done throughout his career. The former UFC light heavyweight champion is currently going through the due process with USADA and the California State Athletic Commission after testing positive for the steroid Turinabol following his second fight with Daniel Cormier at UFC 214.

VIDEO | Joe Rogan confirmed with Dana White that Floyd Mayweather is serious about fighting in the UFC
Russell Ess - December 19, 2017
For those that believed that undefeated and retired boxing superstar Floyd Mayweather was just running his mouth about fighting in the UFC, it seems to be a bit more serious than many might have believed. UFC commentator Joe Rogan was speaking with Eddie Bravo recently on his podcast and revealed that he asked Dana White about the rumors of Mayweather talking about a multi-fight billion dollar deal with the UFC. Interestingly, the UFC President told Rogan that they have been talking and Mayweather does have interest in fighting in the Octagon.
Joe Rogan opens up on the UFC's rising star that could mirror the 'Mike Tyson days'
Russell Ess - December 6, 2017
According to UFC commentator Joe Rogan, we could be seeing a resurgence of days similar to the likes of when “Iron” Mike Tyson was the most feared man to step into the ring with. Over the weekend at UFC 218, rising heavyweight star Francis Ngannou put together a highlight reel knockout over the always dangerous Alistair Overeem. With the win, Ngannou has earned a shot at the UFC heavyweight champion Stipe Miocic and the two are reportedly being targeted to fight at UFC 220 in January.
VIDEO | Joe Rogan and bodybuilder C.T. Fletcher address their Twitter 'beef' face-to-face
Russell Ess - November 29, 2017
Last year many people caught wind of what seemed to be a Twitter beef between UFC commentator Joe Rogan and bodybuilder C.T. Fletcher. Rogan was talking about how the physique of Tyron Woodley could be detrimental in a five-round title fight against Robbie Lawler saying that all the muscle “The Chosen One” carries around could lead to him getting gassed out in the championship rounds of the fight.
