Daniel Cormier blasts “bum” Jon Jones
Prior to Jon Jones’ UFC 197 interim light heavyweight title fight with Ovince Saint Preux, it had been over a year since Jones was in the Octagon. The fight against OSP was a rather lackluster one, however Jones did win in convincing fashion.
Ahead of his highly anticipated rematch with Jon Jones at UFC 200, Daniel Cormier explained to TMZ why Jones should no longer be considered the greatest of all time:
“I call him a bum, he does not like that. Because he feels he’s the greatest fighter of all time and for me to call him that, it goes against everything that he believes, so I’m calling him a bum again. He is a bum. After that last fight he doesn’t deserve to be called the greatest of all time anymore. He looked terrible in his last fight.”
Jones explained following UFC 197 that the reason he seemed hesitant to pull the trigger against OSP was mainly because he had spent his entire training camp preparing for Daniel Cormier, and the late opponent change threw him off.
