Jon Jones and Daniel Cormier have finally found some common ground
Jon Jones and Daniel Cormier share perhaps the most high profile beef in MMA. The two light heavyweight greats, who have fought twice previously, really can’t stand each other.
That being said, they finally seem to have find some common ground in a mutual disdain for Alexander Gustafsson, who they have both captured narrow decision victories over.
Earlier this month Jones went after Gustafsson on Twitter, blasting him for his comments on a recent episode of The JRE MMA Show.
@AlexTheMauler Beat me in three? Your hands were the only thing you had over me in our first fight. That gap is closing fast. Our first fight will be the greatest thing you’ve ever done inside of that octagon. You will never beat me, that’s my promise to you.

“Beat me in three?” Jones said on Twitter, responding to Gustafsson’s comments. “Your hands were the only thing you had over me in our first fight. That gap is closing fast. Our first fight will be the greatest thing you’ve ever done inside of that octagon. You will never beat me, that’s my promise to you.”
Shortly thereafter, Cormier responded to Gustafsson with similar venom.
Alex, what exactly have you accomplished in your career? I’ve earned the right to retire on top. Your greatest accomplishment is two close losses. Congrats on the new contract, now go fight. It’s been two years. Enough with the social media. #gofight https://t.co/Uf2LJ31ALE

Cormier’s response to Gustafsson then prompted a response from Jones, who shockingly said he enjoyed what his rival had to say.
I don’t even like DC and I enjoyed this. Too funny 😂 Alex bring all your tough guy shit to the championship rounds next time 🤙🏾 https://t.co/CSHLq7HlB2

At present, Jon Jones is awaiting sentencing for his latest failed drug test. Daniel Cormier, meanwhile, is poised to battle Stipe Miocic for heavyweight gold in the main event of UFC 226. Alexander Gustafsson, finally, is stuck in limbo as a result of Cormier’s heavyweight title shot.
