Jon Jones fires back at “d***hebag” Dillon Danis
Former UFC light heavyweight kingpin Jon Jones recently made quite the waves in the grappling community when he stepped into the cage at Submission Underground 3 to grapple with MMA legend and former Olympic wrestler Dan Henderson.
The matchup was one that was a long time in the making. Back in 2012, Henderson was set to challenge Jones for the light heavyweight championship in the main event of UFC 151. Unfortunately, a ruptured MCL forced Henderson out of the bout, with the UFC subsequently cancelling the entire card when Jones turned down a short-notice fight with Chael Sonnen just eight days before the event.
When the two stepped into the cage nearly five years later to grapple at Submission Underground 3, Jones submitted the MMA legend in an impressive showing.
With his NSAC-served suspension keeping him sidelined from MMA competition until summer, Jones has been open about setting his sights on another grappling match in the meantime. Unsurprisingly, this resulted in numerous JiuJitsu practitioners calling out the former champ for a grappling match.
One of the men who called Jones out was none other than Conor McGregor’s JiuJitsu coach Dillon Danis, who requested that Jones “beg him” for a grappling match.
@JonnyBones beg me.

Now, in an interview with Fight Hub TV, Jones has fired back at Danis, saying:
“He’s a lot smaller than me, so already going into that grappling match there is not much to gain. I just beat Henderson and I was a lot bigger than him. I think right now people would like to see me go up against somebody that is bigger than me just to have a different challenge. But him telling me to beg him was just kind of a douchy thing to do. I felt like I was already in a situation where I had not much to gain, not many people know who he is. I just felt he was kind of being a douchebag and I’m not even going to entertain you.”
