Jon Jones hints at multiple heavyweight super fights in the future

In his latest engagement with his fans on Twitter, former UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones answered a host of interesting questions.

For one, he says he’s still confident he can beat his arch rival, reigning UFC light heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier.

“Yes, I should be able to,” he said when asked if he’d beat Cormier again. “I’ve taken absolutely zero damage in my time off. Just been learning and adding tools.”

Jones also addressed his rumored super fight with Brock Lesnar, which UFC President Dana White recently suggested was a possibility.

“I don’t underestimate Brock Lesnar,” Jones said of this potential fight. “Dude’s been whooping ass his whole life. He’s just facing a different animal this time, that’s all.”

“That’s what would make the fight so interesting, the unknown,” he added, explaining the appeal of a fight with Lesnar.

Perhaps most interestingly of all, Jones also suggested that there could be multiple heavyweight super fights in his future, and even said he’s open to a potential move to boxing.

“Honestly don’t think I’m ever going to officially move to heavyweight,” Jones said of a permanent move to heavyweight, before suggesting he’d consider taking multiple fights in the division. “I make 205 way too easily. I will start picking off super fights though. Heavyweights take way too much damage.”

“I’m still pretty new to the sport of boxing, but I never doubt myself,” he said when asked about a boxing match with Deontay Wilder. “You never know what God has in store for me.”

Jones is currently awaiting his sentencing from the United States Anti-Doping Agency, as he failed a drug test that was administered in the days before his 2017 fight with Daniel Cormier.
