Jon Jones put the light heavyweight division on notice!

Jon “Bones” Jones (22-1 MMA) is currently on the sidelines waiting to receive punishment from the Nevada State Athletic Commission (NSAC), this for his failed pre-fight drug test from UFC 200 this past July.

The pound-for-pound great has been rather silent on social media in recent weeks, but that all changed yesterday evening when Jones took to Twitter and put the entire light heavyweight division on notice.

“Bones” went on to explain that he is not trying to be a “heel”, but is simply just sick and tired of seeing the “clowns” of the 205-pound division rip his name.

Jon Jones was most recently seen in action at April’s UFC 197 event in Las Vegas, where he scored a unanimous decision victory over Ovince Saint Preux capturing the UFC’s interim light heavyweight title in the process.

As previously mentioned, “Bones” was expected to rematch bitter rival Daniel Cormier at July’s blockbuster UFC 200 event, however, Jones failed a pre-fight drug test and was pulled from the highly anticipated title unification bout.

Daniel Cormier went on to fight former UFC middleweight kingpin Anderson Silva at July’s UFC 200 event in a non-title fight which he easily won by unanimous decision.

Cormier will now defend his title in a rematch with feared knockout artist Anthony “Rumble” Johnson at December’s UFC 206 event in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

Meanwhile, Jon Jones was scheduled to appear in front of the NSAC on October 10 but unfortunately the meeting was postponed until November.

UFC President Dana White has stated in the past that Jon Jones has a strong case with his appeal and that we could very well see “Bones” back in the octagon very soon.
