Jon Jones went off on Daniel Cormier and Anthony Johnson

UFC light heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier will defend his title in a rematch with Anthony “Rumble” Johnson this December at UFC 206 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

The pair first met at UFC 187 in May of 2015, with “DC” emerging victorious by way of third-round submission (rear-naked choke).

In a recent interview with Michael Landsberg of TSN, Cormier and Rumble weighed in on Jones’ current situation. Though the two light heavyweights differ in their prediction of the outcome of their upcoming fight, they agreed whole-heartedly that Jones is no longer relevant.

“No, [he’s not relevant] because he’s not fighting,” Cormier told Landsberg. What made him relevant was the fact that he could fight and he could fight well. He’s not fighting anymore. He’s a normal guy that did a lot of things in the past. He’s any other guy that, at this point, is retired because he’s not in the game.”

“When people ask me about Jon, they ask me like ‘what’s going on with that guy?’,” Rumble said, echoing Cormier’s statement. “They don’t ask me about his athletic ability anymore, and his greatness inside the cage, they talk about his problems outside the cage. Nobody’s perfect, we’ve all had our problems outside the cage, but his are just amazing.”

Those comments did not sit well with the pound-for-pound great, Jon Jones (22-1 MMA), who fired back at “DC” and “Rumble” on social media with the following messages via Twitter:

“Bones” then turned his attention to “Rumble”, who he says is “no Saint”, this after being involved in a domestic violence case in 2015:

Jones continued:

Jon Jones will be meeting with the NSAC next month regarding his failed pre-fight drug test which occurred days before UFC 200 this past July.

“Bones” and UFC president Dana White are both confident that fight fans will get to see the 205-pound kingpin back inside the octagon very soon.
