Luke Rockhold calls out Jon Jones following grappling submission win over Dan Henderson
Jon Jones and Dan Henderson’s grappling match at the Submission Underground 2 event that took place over the weekend may have just started something very interesting.
Jones was able to secure an arm-triangle choke on the recently retired MMA legend and forced “Hendo” to submit at 6:39 of the competition.
“Dan is so strong, I did not expect him to be that strong,” Jones said of Henderson following the submission win. “Thank you so much for the opportunity, Dan. I really appreciate it, man. I know we’ve had our differences over the years, Dan, but I respect you tremendously. You’re truly a legend and one of the greatest of all-time in our sport.”
Henderson gave Jones praise as well for his performance in their grappling match. “He got me with a nice arm-triangle, snuck it in there on me, the dirty bastard,” Henderson said following his submission loss to Jones. “But no, good job to Jon. He did a great job tonight.”
Interestingly, the former UFC light heavyweight champion’s submission win over Henderson has caught the attention of former middleweight champion Luke Rockhold and it surely seems like the UFC middleweight is looking to get himself in a grappling match against Jones.
Rockhold tweeted on Monday, “@jonnybones testing his grappling skills. Let these old men be. U really wanna try this shit 4 real? Im free Jan 29 lets dance @FloGrappling.”

What makes this particularly interesting is Rockhold was scheduled to fight Ronaldo “Jacare” Souza in the main event of UFC Fight Night 101 back in November but pulled out due to an injury. The UFC has yet to announce any official bout for Rockhold or Jacare at this point.
