NSAC extends Jon Jones’ temporary suspension, tests positive for clomiphene and letrozole
The Nevada State Athletic Commission (NSAC) held a hearing on the extension of temporary suspension for Jon Jones on Monday following Jones’ potential Anti-Doping Policy violation.
The hearing finally revealed the substances that Jones tested positive for that came from a June 16 out-of-competition sample.
According to ESPN, Jones tested “positive for clomiphene, which is listed as an anti-estrogenic substance on the banned list, and traces of letrozole, an aromatase inhibitor, which work to prevent the synthesis of androgens such as testosterone into estrogen.”
The NSAC was informed by the Nevada district attorney’s office that a “potential hearing date” may be in September or October.
Jon Jones potentially faces a two-year suspension from fighting as the result of testing positive for banned substances.
