VIDEO | Jon Jones competes in NAGA tournament at Europa Games Expo in Phoenix
Some lucky fans got a chance to see former UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones back in competition over the weekend.
Jones says he was called out by some of his fans at the North American Grappling Association (NAGA) tournament, which took place at the Europa Games Expo in Phoenix. Jones was present at the expo with his GAT supplement sponsor.
Jones said in his Instagram post, “Was randomly called out by some MMA fans to try a grappling match today after my autograph signing. I thought hey why not. Ended up rolling with a brown belt and a purple belt. Hope you guys enjoyed it as much as I did. May even try it again tomorrow.”
As you can see from the video above, Jones caught his opponent in a guillotine choke, causing him to submit. However, Jones did not go undefeated in the tournament.

Jon Jones is temporarily suspended from competition in the UFC while his arbitration hearing for testing positive for banned substances takes place. Jones tested positive for clomiphene and letrozole ahead of his scheduled UFC 200 title fight against UFC light heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier. Both substances are on the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) banned substance list.
UFC President Dana White has stated that Jones did not take the drugs everyone thought he took and that his case was looking much better than initially anticipated.
According to MMA Fighting, Jon Jones’ arbitration hearing against USADA is set for October 31 in Los Angeles, California. Jones is set to be the first UFC fighter to appeal a USADA sanction by way of arbitration.
