Jose Aldo has a message for Conor McGregor
UFC featherweight champion Conor McGregor scored a majority decision victory over Nate Diaz last night in a welterweight bout which headlined UFC 202 in Las Vegas.
UFC president Dana White had stated prior to yesterday’s fight that McGregor would return to featherweight or vacate his 145-pound belt win or lose following his rematch with Diaz.
However, following his victory over Diaz, McGregor announced that he wanted to have a trilogy bout with Nate in the UFC’s lightweight division. Diaz accepted McGregor’s challenge for a rubber match in his post-fight interview with Joe Rogan.
Current UFC interim featherweight champion Jose Aldo was hoping to rematch McGregor later this year at UFC 205 in New York. Upon hearing the news of a possible trilogy fight with Diaz, Aldo issued the following message for McGregor on social media:
Where you at @TheNotoriousMMA? Come back down and I'll see you at UFC205 or drop the belt! #hitandrun
