Jose Aldo unveils gameplan for Conor McGregor
Back at UFC 194, Conor McGregor and Jose Aldo finally stepped in the Octagon to fight for the featherweight championship. While many expected the fight to be the toughest test of McGregor’s career, he dispatched of the longtime champion in just 13 seconds.
At UFC 200, Aldo earned himself a rematch with McGregor as he defeated Frankie Edgar to win the interim featherweight championship. With a rematch with McGregor on the horizon, Aldo has begun thinking about how a rematch will play out.
He spoke to media members recently about his strategy in the first fight, as well as how he will approach the rematch.
“In the first fight, we were going to do that (grapple). The problem in that we didn’t have time.
“We trained jiu-jitsu a lot and had everything in mind, everything prepared. We trained it a lot.
“In the locker room, warming up, we spent two hours training on the ground doing positions and everything we were going to do in the fight.
“But we got to the fight and had no time, so we couldn’t do it. But we’ll see next time. The future belongs to god.”
Will he be able to reclaim the championship in the rematch?
