‘Harry Potter’ actor to pursue MMA

It’s not every day that an actor takes their talents from the big screen to the cage, however that’s exactly what ‘Harry Potter’ actor Josh Herdman plans to do.

Herdman, who played Gregory Goyle in all 8 of the Harry Potter movies had his first MMA fight recently, which he won. Herdman, who is 28 years old, now looks to build on the win and pursue an MMA career while also continuing his acting career.

Herdman spoke to US Magazine to discuss his MMA plans:

“I’m doing it because I enjoy it,” he said of cage fighting. “But I also take it very seriously. It’s in my family’s blood. I like competing and pushing my boundaries … I chose MMA because I love the sport. It’s raw, exciting and unpredictable. I find it more interesting than boxing although I appreciate the beauty and art in boxing. It also made sense to move onto MMA because of my jiu-jitsu training.”
