Josh Hokit had quite the response to Paulo Costa’s post-UFC 327 bonus gripes. Hokit and Costa were featured on this past weekend’s pay-per-view card in Miami. They competed in separate bouts. Hokit had a barn burner against Curtis Blaydes, which saw him pick up the unanimous decision win. Costa scored a third-round TKO finish over Azamat Murzakanov.

UFC veteran Curtis Blaydes has praised Josh Hokit in the wake of their absolute battle at UFC 327 last weekend. Last Saturday night, Curtis Blaydes slugged it out with Josh Hokit at UFC 327 in a clash for the ages. Nobody really knew heading into the fight whether or not Hokit would be able to compete with someone on Blaydes’ level, but as it turns out, he went in there and absolutely thrived, proving he is a top five heavyweight.

During the pre-fight media day session, Hokit dressed as a Mexican gangster and tried agitating UFC 327 headliners Jiri Prochazka and Carlos Ulberg.

Blaydes (19-6 MMA) was returning to the Octagon for the first time since earning a split decision win over Rizvan Kuniev this past June in Baku. Prior to that triumph, ‘Razor’ was coming off a first-round knockout loss to Tom Aspinall (see that here).

The Octagon returned to Miami, Florida, for tonight’s UFC 327 event, a 12-bout fight card headlined by Jiri Prochazka vs. Carlos Ulberg. The highly anticipated light heavyweight title fight resulted in one of the craziest finishes in recent memory. After getting off to a good start with some hard low kicks, Carlos Ulberg seemingly blew out his knee while sliding out of the pocket. Jiri Prochazka initially pounced at the opportunity, but after landing some nasty low kicks to the injured leg of Ulberg and recognizing the extent of his opponent’s injury, Prochazka seemingly let up. It was shortly after his aggression stopped that ‘Black Jag’ was able to find a home for a big left hook that sent the Czech fighter crashing to the canvas. Ulberg jumped all over Jiri with hammer fists and put him out cold for a brief moment.

The undefeated heavyweight referred to himself as a “vato.” When Hokit ran into Prochazka, who is scheduled to headline UFC 327 in a light heavyweight title fight against Carlos Ulberg, things got testy.

Dana White’s Contender Series alum Josh Hokit earned one of the early contenders for ‘Knockout of the Year’ when he finished Denzel Freeman with one second left in Round 1 at UFC 324. Hokit moved to 8-0 with back-to-back knockouts to kick off his promotional tenure.
